Hospital Bag Must Haves

If you look back in my blogs I’ve posted second and third trimester must haves. I also posted postpartum and newborn must haves! One thing I didn’t share with my previous pregnancies is what I packed in my hospital bag. I’d like to think the third time around I have a good idea of what I’ll need so hopefully this can help some of you Mama’s out there!

I’ve never taken my Boppy with me before but the hospital beds aren’t that comfy so instead of shoving a million pillows under my arm to nurse I am going to wise up and just take the Boppy. I really do love this to help me nurse. It’s a staple in our house the first few months. Same goes for the Lanolin. I carry this around with me for the start of nursing for relief if I start to get sore so I’ll be taking some with me this time just in case I need it right off the bat.

I have babies in cold weather, that’s just how it’s done around here, hah. So a sweet cozy going home outfit with a hat is crucial.

While in the hospital, baby is usually just in a little onesie and swaddle. They have so many check ups while there it’s nice to keep it simple. I like taking my own cute swaddles. Little Unicorn has some of my favorites.

A long iPhone charging cord comes in really handy, especially for the late nights!

Hair ties! I had no desire/energy to even dry my hair while in the hospital. So being able to just throw it up into a pony tail was great for me.

The main face products I use while at the hospital are just face cleansing clothes / make up remover wipes and chapstick. I feel like the hospital air is so dry I was constantly wanting to apply chapstick. These days my favorites of those two are the Simple brand wipes and Raw Sugar lip balm.

When it comes to what I wear those few days in the hospital, I really liked being in something form fitting and not any type of nightgown. The first day while still in a hospital gown I like to throw my robe over top so I’ll toss that in my bag along with some fuzzy non slip socks. The next day and going home, high waisted leggings are my jam. I have the Blanqi postpartum support leggings and plan to wear those again. I pair that with some nursing tanks from either Target or H&M and my favorite sweater.
