Spontaneity, Sunshine and Sound Tiiiigers... raaaar!

Last weekend I took a spontaneous trip to Connecticut.  The drive was long but the weather was gorgeous.  It was my first time shooting the Sound Tigers this season.  (Where does the time go?!)  They won the past 5 home games and as I hoped, they continued their streak by winning both games Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday's game was a major comeback against the Providence Bruins.  In an exciting third, Sound Tigers goals were scored by Justin DiBenedetto, Trevor Frischmon, Sean Backman, and Scott Howes.  Captain Jeremy Colliton then scored the game-winning goal as he recorded his 200th career AHL point.  Kevin Poulin*, who recently returned after being called up to the NHL affiliate, New York Islanders was in net.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers beat The Providence Bruins 5-4.

At Sunday afternoon game, the Sound Tigers were down 2-0 against the Albany Devils at the end of the second. In the third period Tony Romano put one in the net, followed by two from Aaron Ness to win the game.  In net was Anders Nilsson* who made 30 saves.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers beat The Albany Devils 3-2.

Post game, Rhett Rakhshani (out with concussion symptoms) and Matt Donovan signed autographs.

*Nilsson was called up to the New York Islanders on Sunday the 4th.  He made 24 saves to record his first NHL win/shutout against the New Jersey Devils. Nilsson was also named the Reebok/AHL Goaltender of the Month for February by The American Hockey League. Poulin was named Reebok/AHL Goaltender of the Month for January.
